Stitch Fix: How It Works

I am so excited to finally be talking about Stitch Fix! I know I touched base on it when I got the job, but I've been waiting for my first Fix to come in so I could go into further detail! In this blog post, you will see a step by step of how Stitch Fix works and what you need to do to sign up!

So what is Stitch Fix?

"Stitch Fix is an online styling service that delivers a truly personalized shopping experience, just for you. Fill out your Style Profile and a personal stylist will hand pick pieces to fit your tastes, needs and budget—and mail them directly to your door. Each box contains five items of clothing, shoes and accessories for you to try on at home. Keep what you love, send the rest back in a prepaid USPS envelope. Shipping and returns are free—even for exchanges!"

How does it work?

1. Fill out the style profile

Be as detailed as possible here. Your stylist doesn't know you, so if you want them to match your style you need to be as detailed as possible. I even linked my blog, Instagram and Pinterest to help them better understand me! For my first Fix, I had someone random style me, so I could get the full experience, but I am allowed to style myself and will probably do so next just to try it out!

2. Pick the date you'd like to receive shipment

I did a quarterly Fix. So I just received mine and my next one will be in December. You can change the date or skip that Fix at anytime with no charge.

3. Try everything on!!

This is essential. Your stylist has had amazing training and she hand-picked items for you, so try them on and give them a shot. You don't know what will look great on until you try it. Now, although I didn't purchase everything in my Fix, I tried everything on, and items did look better on than I thought.

4. Buy what you like and return the rest!

You get 3 days to decide what to keep and return. Shipping is taking care of completely for you. Just log in to your Stitch Fix account and check out by clicking exchange, return, or keep. Whatever you don't want to keep, place in the prepaid USPS envelope and drop off at your local post office.

5. Finally Let your stylist know what you think!

Be honest and give feedback. You will be asked what you thought about price, quality, style, and fit. We use this information to improve your box every time. For example, I loved a cardigan my stylist styled but the elbows had suede patchwork - I hate patchwork, but there was no way for her to know, so I put that in the notes for next time.

How much is Stitch Fix?

The average item is $55. BUT if you buy all 5 items you get 25% off. I recently styled my Mom and she bought all 5 items, her total was $150 ( Hope that helps understand what the total could be). Also, there is a $20 styling fee for each box, but if you buy even one thing, that $20 is applied to the item you buy. Also keep in mind you are never paying for shipping, so what's $20 for a fun surprise here and there?

You can also refer people to Stitch Fix and get $25 credits to spend:)

What if you want me to be your stylist?

In your final thoughts, or in the request for this Fix box, just add "I would like Tiffany Whoolery to be my stylist!" Can't wait to style some of you!!

Check out my pictures below to see how to do your style profile and my personal Fix!

First, Is sizing. Here they will get all your sizes and ask questions like is your torso long or short? Shoulders narrow or broad? This is all key to getting the fit of your items right!

Next, more detail about how you like items to fit. Not pictured, it asks about each body part and if you prefer to flaunt them or not and if so how often.

Then you will be shown a series of outfits and asked to rate how you feel about them! This gives your stylist a brief look into your style preference.

On the "more about you page," you can leave your social media outlets. I highly recommend leaving your Pinterest, and make sure it's updated! Don't link it if you haven't updated your fashion board in over a year. Then fill out the Final thoughts! This is where you get to tell the stylist what you're looking for! If you don't know what you want, and you're looking to find your own unique style, tell her that!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Comment below if you have questions or feedback! XO Tiffany
