What I'm Packing For Spring Training

Updated: Sep 25, 2018

For those of you who have been following me, you know I have been blessed with the opportunity to go to Spring Training with my fiancé for 7 whole weeks! This is a huge deal for me, because I still work full time at an office from 8-5. So to have my job allow me to leave for such a long period of time truly is a blessing. While I am ecstatic to take on this adventure with my little family, the idea of packing for over a month can be stressful.

So I started a shopping list and then picked my absolute must haves for the trip out of my current wardrobe. Obviously I can't showcase every single thing I'm bringing, but I thought I could give you guys a preview into my suitcase and some items you might want to consider bringing if you're making the trip out to one of my favorite cities.

My favorite piece I'll be bringing is my "Mrs. Ramirez" jersey. This was an early birthday present from Nick and I can't wait to wear it all season long. This will also be one of my outfits for our engagement pictures in the mountains (my other outfit is more elegant). But anyways, game day clothes are essential. I can't go to AZ without Brewers gear! For those of you wondering, we did the number 36 instead of 33 because his spring training jerseys have 36 on them and I wanted to match for our pictures.

Next, Is a fun maxi outfit. I think this is just such a great "desert" look and it's ideal for brunch or day drinking in Old Town. Plus the crop top will look cute with a pair of denim shorts and flip flops if I don't want to be as dressed up.

Casual wear is also an essential. Whether you're hiking Camelback Mountain or just lounging around, I highly recommend a chill outfit, like the one I'm packing. I already live in my Adidas sweatshirt, so I know I'll get good use out of it while I'm relaxing.

I also added some cheap sunnies that I'm obsessed with. I hate traveling with expensive sunglasses because I usually lose them or scratch them. The ones I've linked are dupes for Gentle Monster Big Bully Aviators (originally $280).

Pool party ready items are also perfect for the Scottsdale sun! I'm having my bachelorette in Arizona so having a white bathing suit with cute accessories is a must for me. I just ordered this adorable suit and bamboo bag, which is an amazing dupe for the Culp Gaia bag!

Now to the basics. Like I said, there's no way for me to show you everything I'm packing, but I can show you a more capsule style way to pack. Capsule wardrobe items should be pieces you absolutely love and know that you'll wear. They aren't items that you "might" wear, which usually gives you too many options and has you feeling frustrated when you're trying to pick out an outfit.

Tank tops are an absolute must in the desert. I suggest going with a basic tank you can wear with denim shorts and a lace cami style top that you can dress up for a night out. For example, I would style the cami with black denim and espadrilles.

Another basic top that is ideal during spring training is a baseball tee, duh! You can easily style it with distressed denim and the leather jacket for an edgier look. I also recommend packing a basic white and black tee as they are super versatile!

I also recommend bringing different layering pieces. I'm sticking to my 3 basics. A cardigan for lounging around or pairing with a cotton dress. My favorite leather jacket to go out in, and my denim jacket for baseball games.

I'm also going to be bringing some other fun items to Scottsdale like the mustard color top, a few pair of jeans (denim, black, and white), and few fun pair of shoes like the strap ones I've pictured. I just ordered them and they're so adorable, and on sale!

Keep in mind these are essential items that I love because they're so interchangeable which is ideal for packing. But you will definitely need to pack a few going out outfits! Old Town has an amazing night life scene and I highly recommend a dress that kills!

Ps. the house slippers - you'll thank me later. I have no shame in wearing these to the airport with leggings and sweatshirt. Your large reversible tote will come in handy for traveling and at games as well. It's also under $50 and totally worth it!

Lastly, we have toiletries. I firmly believe on not skipping out on skin routines or hair routines when you're traveling, so naturally, I listed my must haves. To get more info on the skin care items I will be packing, read my blog post on my skin care routine, here.

I don't know about you, but my skin is so dry and it doesn't get any better once I'm in Arizona. That's why I pack sunscreen and a hydrating face mask that I can do once a week. Glamglow is amazing and I highly recommend trying this mask out. It comes in a travel size if you want to try it before you buy the entire bottle.

For hair, I have to bring my purple shampoo. I always get asked how I get my hair so icy, and the secret is leaving this miracle worker on for 15 minutes once a week. This really helps keep my toner in tact and keep the yellow out of my blonde hair.

After I wash my hair, I use the blow dry spray by Kenra. For those of you with thick hair that takes forever to dry, this will be your saving grace. This product literally cuts your blow dry time in half! After I blow dry I spray the Drybar texture spray. This stuff smells amazing and gives my fine hair all day volume and bounce.
